Programs
Burin Peninsula Brighter Futures offers
the following programs, which are always free to children aged 0-6 and their
parents or caregivers:
Family Drop in Play
Family Drop In is offered at each center, and sessions are
facilitated by parent/caregiver volunteers and the Family Support
Facilitator for that area. The program is designed to foster the growth and
development of children and promote family unity. During Drop In, children
are exposed to a variety of activities such as games, creative art, outings,
sports, and special events. Healthy, nutritious snacks are prepared each
session. There are plenty of age appropriate toys for children to play with
that are designed to foster growth in specific areas of development. Family
Drop In play is also beneficial to parents in that it provides an
opportunity to spend quality time with their children, while at the same
time promoting an informal network to other parents with children in the
same age group.
During Drop in Play we also have programs for our
participants that run for 4 or 6 weeks at a time throughout the year. These
include Crafty Cooking, Rhymes and Thymes, Jolly Jumpers, Little Chefs,
TALK, Hands of a Child, Ladybug Airlines, Healthy Habits for Me,
and many more. Ask at your center for information!
